The Pianist of Willesden Lane

Poet and author Kahlil Gibran said, “Music is the language of the spirit. It opens the secret of life bringing peace, abolishing strife.” In the play The Pianist of Willesden Lane, the healing power of music is demonstrated during one of history's most tumultuous times: World War II. Pianist and actress Mona Golabek performs the story of her mother, Lisa Jura, a young Jewish pianist displaced by the Nazi regime. Set to some of the world's most beloved piano music played on stage live, The Pianist of Willesden Lane, now performing at the Laguna Playhouse, fills audiences with hope as the tale of resilience showcases just how powerful the human spirit can be.

Tuesdays-Sundays. Starts: May 29. Continues through June 9, 2013
