Its probably the most unlikely of situations: Not only do two divorced people (previously married to each other) get rehitched at the same time, but they also take their honeymoons with their new sweeties at the same time in the same hotel in the same city and somehow unknowingly manage to book adjoining rooms. Sure, its near-impossible that would actually happen, but Noël Cowards 1930 comedy has fascinated literary and theater critics alike since its debutone that, due to a risque love scene, raised quite a few old-timey eyebrows and almost got the production banned in Britain. Still going strong after 70-plus years, Private Lives takes a turn at the Laguna Playhouse this month and proves that some matters of the heart refuse to change with time.
