Fiction Book Group: The Art of Racing in the Rain

The only thing that could possibly make watching a movie surpass reading a book is the communal aspect of sitting in your seat and collectively sharing the sights, sounds and feelings with others. It’s this sensation that makes book clubs so appealing—and we’re not talking the Oprah variety. We mean real, honest, in-person interaction with a group and a novel and organic discussion. This week’s Fiction Book Group will be dominating the movie-watching experience with their session on The Art of Racing in The Rain by Garth Stein. Explore the plight of a philosopher dog, Enzo, and his desire to relate to the human experience through watching the trials and tribulations of his race car driving master. And do it with your friends, or even perfect strangers—just don’t do it in front of a screen, okay?
