Love it or hate it, fashion is a force to be reckoned with. Whether celebrating the innovation of designers or attacking the evils of the industry, there’s no denying its presence throughout history or it’s perseverance in pop culture. 'Fashionistas Fight Back' is an art exhibition that will explore all angles of the industry through garments, sketches, painting, photography, sculpture and video. The event is meant to use fashion as a weapon, arming designers with a platform to communicate their talents and artistic points of view. Art critic and author Shana Nys Dambrot will serve as juror, selecting various works for recognition. Special events and fashion shows are scheduled for the opening reception, and throughout the run of the exhibition.
