  Yost Theater presents Mum on Saturday November 7 at 8pm. Mum is an experimental Icelandic pop group whose music is characterized by soft vocals, eccentric beats and colorful effects, and a variety of traditional and unconventional instruments. September ‘09, Mum released their fifth studio album, Sing Along to Songs You Don’t Know. Hildur Gudnadottir of Mum opens the evening with a solo performance followed by Icelandic group Sin Fang Bous.

  In an effort to raise funds, and awareness for The Eli Home, an Orange County non-profit home for abused children The Wishing Well Crew has organized an event titled Thanksgiving Jam, which is a weekend of music and art featuring the legendary H.R., singer for the Bad Brains.

  Thanksgiving Jam. features acoustic musical performances by H.R. along with; Walter Schrifles from the notable bands Quicksand, and Gorilla Biscuits, Jonah Matranga of the band FAR, Jeff Pezzati from the Chicago punk band Naked Raygun, and Steve Soto of the Orange County band Adolescents. The event also will hold an art show featuring works for sale by the performing musicians along with other local artists.
