ORIGINAL POST, AUG. 8, 9:35 A.M.: Buena Park Police arrived at a home in the 6700 block of San Benito Way
Sunday morning to investigate the possible suicide of resident William Schilling.
son and daughter, who are both in their 20s, were in the home at the
time, and she told cops she believed her father had shot himself in the
master bedroom. But officers found the body of not only Mr. Schilling
there but the body of his wife, Susan Schilling.
Buena Park Police spokesman Corporal Andy Luong says the deaths appeared to be the result of a murder/suicide and that the dead couple were married and in their 50s. But police have not yet indicated who was the shooter and who was the murder victim.
Heck, Luong did not even identify the couple, neighbors did (to the Orange County Register, which confirmed the names through property records).
Luong said the official release of the couple's names in pending notification of next of kin and will be handled by the Orange County Coroner.
Two things: 1) Wasn't it the next of kin who reported the shooting? B) The coroner's informs, “Please refer to the investigating agency for all information.”
And so it goes.
