UPDATE, MARCH 22, 2:48 P.M.: According to Cypress Police Sgt. Robert Cote, Nguyen does not appear to be the man who pointed a cell phone at a female in a Cypress College ladies room last month.
ORIGINAL POST, MARCH 22, 2:27 P.M.: Remember that pervy incident from last month where a guy was trying to shoot video or a photo of a woman doing her business in a Cypress College ladies room? Cypress Police announced a young man was arrested on campus Tuesday after he allegedly used his cell phone to secretly shoot video of three males in a men's room–and that 19-year-old Johnny Nguyen admitted to committing
the same crime 15 other over the past 12 months in various Cypress College men's restrooms.
Around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, a 9-1-1 call was placed by a gentleman who had detained Nguyen after catching him pointing his cellphone in the caller's direction from an adjacent stall in a men's room on campus, according to Cypress Police Sgt. Robert Cote.
When officers arrived and took a look at Nguyen's cell phone, they determined he had allegedly shot video the same day of two other males using the facilities on campus, said Cote, who added that's when Nguyen confessed about the other incidents over the past 12 months.
Nguyen was arrested on suspicion of videotaping someone without their consent–a misdemeanor–and booked into the Cypress city jail.
Meanwhile, Cote says his investigators want to hear from other possible victims, who can call 714.229.6631.
I'm awaiting word back from the good sergeant on whether Nguyen has also been linked to the Feb. 13 incident in the women's room in the campus Humanities Building.
