Orange County Democratic Party To Host Donald Trump Nemesis

Little Adam is going to Orange County, believe me.

The Orange County Democratic Party will host Congressman Adam Schiff, one of the most vocal and persistent critics of President Donald Trump’s ethics, as its keynote speaker at the upcoming annual Truman Awards Dinner.

Schiff, a 58-year-old Stanford University and Harvard Law School graduate who represents a portion of central Los Angeles County, worked as a federal prosecutor before beginning his political career in the California State Senate.

But it’s Schiff’s constant pursuit of Trump administration foibles that has earned him international attention, including attacks by the 45th president.

In a Feb. 2018, Trump tweeted, “Little Adam Schiff, who is desperate to run for higher office, is one of the biggest liars and leakers in Washington, right up there with [James] Comey, [John] Warner, [John] Brennan and [James] Clapper! Adam leaves closed committee hearings to illegally leak confidential information. Must be stopped!”

Schiff fired back, accusing Trump of maintaining a daily obsession watching himself on TV, launching smear campaigns, ignoring the nation’s problems and enticing the Russians to give him electoral support.

At the Aug. 25 dinner, Democratic Party officials will also honor state Senator Kevin de Leon (Social Justice Award, NUHW Sodexo Workers (Dolores Huerta Labor Award), and Orange County Employees Association General Manager Jennifer Muir Beuthin (Truman Award).

Other keynote speakers at the dinner, the party’s biggest fundraising event of the year, have included congressmen Keith Ellison, Barney Frank, Joaquin Castro as well as then-U.S. Senator John Kerry and Gavin Newsom, who is now running for governor.

The event will take place at the Hilton Costa Mesa.
