Lobster Festival in Long Beach This Weekend

It may seem disingenuous to have a Maine lobster fest in Long Beach. But it's a tradition going on 14 years. So if you can reconcile that La Habra holds its annual Corn Festival without even a single corn field in the city, then you can deal with Long Beach's annual crustacean celebration.

Bristol Farms will be responsible for the cooking the flown-in critters, steamed in what they claim is the world's largest lobster steamers. Plates will include the lobster, melted butter for dipping, lemons, coleslaw, a dinner roll and watermelon.

And of course, as an added side dish, there will be an international food court, arts & crafts booths, desserts, beer & wine gardens, special themed cocktails and entertainment from live bands.
