The Irvine Police Department holds a sobriety checkpoint from 8 tonight through 2 a.m.
The agency announced the operation will be in the area of Alton and Gateway.
It is funded by California Office of Traffic Safety grant funding.
The Buena Park Police Department also announced this week it will be conducting a DUI checkpoint on Cinco de Mayo, which falls on a Saturday this year.
