Finally, after two long years of choosing the right songs, assembling a lineup of all-star musicians, and recording, Huntington Beach songwriter Ted Zakka is releasing his third full-length album, Southland. The Wranglers’ down-home style of outlaw country, combined with Zakka’s distinctive voice and vivid storytelling, have been distilled into twelve tracks that should be in roadhouse jukeboxes across the country. Sonically, there is an unmistakably western twang, but the band plays a majority of hard rocking tunes. Their live shows, driven by quick guitar picking and a rhythm section that just makes you want to get up off your ass, are energetic to say the least. Lace up your dancing boots and celebrate this long-awaited release.
