Mon Laferte

Norma Monserrat Bustamante Laferte, a Chilean singer-songwriter, impressed audiences at Coachella’s main stage this past April with her dynamic voice and pop-fusion sensibilities. Originally from Viña del Mar and now based in Mexico City, Mon Laferte— as she’s better known throughout the hemisphere— returns to Southern California with a tour in support of her latest album Norma, which was recorded in Los Angeles and produced by At the Drive-In guitarist Omar Rodriguez-Lopez. It’s a conceptual work chronicling the distinct stages of a couple’s love, including “Funeral,” a bolero that heart-wrenchingly details the death of its passion. Feel all the feels and it’ll be no secret as to why Mon Laferte is Spotify’s most-listened to Chilean artist around the world and her music videos routinely tally hundreds of millions of views, with the recently released “Canción de Mierda” well on its way.
