Whatever cosmic energy was involved in combining the talents of Jennifer Connelly, the star power and charisma of David Bowie and imagination of Jim Henson to produce this film was, for us, a blessing, as it remains one of the most endearing fantasy films of all time. The story kicks off as a rebellious teen casts her baby brother to Jareth, the Goblin King, and she must solve Jareth’s labyrinth to rescue him. In between are memorable songs, masquerade ball scene and Bowie’s wig make this a singular film to attract viewers of all ages. See it all at the Bowers this evening and feel enchanted all over again, and enjoy some light art making and snack bar before the screening.
