In her demo, Keiko will show her entire painting process as she thoroughly explains the technical and decision-making processes used in her no fear direct approach on how to keep watercolor simple, strong, and FUN. She will offer tips and guidance on how to capture the essence of the subject matter to convey a certain mood and atmosphere. She will also be presenting and discussing the exhibition selections.
Keiko was born in Kyoto, Japan and currently lives in San Diego, California, U.S.A. She embarked on a professional art career as a watercolor painter in 2005 after working in international relations and marketing. Since then, her work has earned many awards and recognitions on national and international level. Her work appears in private and corporate collections in many countries and has also been featured in numerous art publications. She is a sought-after workshop instructor, teaching watercolor courses both in the U.S. and abroad since 2011.
This is a live demonstration, no materials are required as participants do not paint. Attendees should bring a light sweater. No food or beverages are allowed in the council chambers. Please check in at the Gallery prior to the event.
