I Will Not Make Any More Boring Art: Prints by John Baldessari

Sep 19th • 11:00 am - 5:00 pm • Laguna Art Museum

The small, round, colorful dots which renowned conceptual artist John Baldessari used to cover the faces of subjects did their work to make his point, and make him famous, as one of the century’s most engaging, funny, innovative trickster visual and multi-media anti-storytellers. Introducing or removing elements always creates new, provocative syntax and narrative, as in his most famous performance, cremating a decade of his own work and putting the ashes in an urn. (His body of work, get it?) No need to explain, really, as his oeuvre explains itself, invites viewers into the concept or joke, just now at the always welcoming Laguna Art Museum.
