Did Mission Viejo High Senior Call This World Series for Cubs … in 1993?

As the Cubs prepare for their first World Series game since 1945 tonight, the Interwebs are exploding this morning with the news that a Mission Viejo High School senior predicted in 1993 that Chicago would be the 2016 world champions.

This all began with a Reddit post wondering if the caption under a yearbook photo of Michael Lee is real or fake.

It reads: “Chicago Cubs. 2016 World Series champions. You heard it here first.”

Others who picked up with the post and ran with it say they have checked several online sources for Mission Viejo High's 1993 yearbook, and all include a Michael Lee photo with that passage. So, if this is a hoax, someone went to an awful lot of trouble to stymie fact checkers.

Fans of the Cubbies can only hope Michael Lee is a modern day Nostradamus.

Fans of the Injuns can only hope this is a hoax or that Lee is like a modern day year 2000 doomsday nutbar.
