A Martin Elementary School janitor, whose baby face make him appear not much older than a sixth grader, has been arrested on suspicion of planting a video camera inside a bathroom of the Santa Ana campus.
Angel Rojas Jr., 24, has worked as a substitute custodian at the Whittier Avenue school since June, and he was taken into custody July 25, the Santa Ana Unified School District announced Monday.
Booked on suspicion of misdemeanor illegal use of a recording device, Rojas made bail and was released from jail July 26. He has since been terminated from the school district.
A female Martin Elementary co-worker found the video recorder in the restroom, according to the school district, which added images of the same woman were later found on the device.
Other electronic gear was confiscated after a search warrant was served at Rojas' Corona home, according to district police.
Anyone with information that can help investigators is asked to call SAUSD Police Sgt. Manuel Chavez at 714.558.5739.
