USLA National Lifeguard Championships @ Huntington State Beach

More than 1,000 men, women and youth lifeguards from across the U.S. competed for individual and team honors August 5-7, 2010 at Huntington State Beach. Calif. Professional lifeguards ranging in age from 18-75 and junior lifeguards from 9-17 competed in water and beach-course events that challenge their lifesaving skills in a variety of events from surf swims to beach runs and paddleboards to surf boats, including the Landline Rescue Relay, Ironman and Ironwoman events and Beach Flags, "the fastest event on sand."
