Several same-sex couples gathered at the county's clerk offices on July 1, the first day of marriage equality after the Supreme Court overturned the controversial Prop 8 which banned gay marriage. The county's clerk offices in Fullerton, Laguna Hills and Santa Ana usually have about 30 marriages on Mondays, but about 70 civil ceremonies were performed on the first.

Here are a few of the couples that held ceremonies at the Old Orange County Courthouse in Santa Ana. All images by Eric Hood.
