The Riverbed Farm is a 1 acre plot of land located off of Vermont near State College in a residential neighborhood adjacent to Boysen or Airplane Park. The farm is run by staff and interns in partnership with Renewable Farms, an international organization of farms.

The farm’s purpose is to donate hundreds of pounds of food a week to the local community. Opened with land donated from the city of Anaheim in February 2015, the farm operates on an aquaponics system with 50 beds using 10 ponds of fish to grow plants in 3/8 inch crushed gravel that result in a 90% water savings compared to typical soil growing. The farm produces hundreds of pounds of vegetables a week for donation to the local community. The fish are fed from grains donated by Anaheim Brewery and Ambitious Ales from Buena Park.

Assorted vegetables grown on the farm include zucchini, cucumber, several chards, beets, three basils, three kales, four tomatoes sunflowers and marigold flowers. Blends of neem, tea tree, basil, spearmint and rosemary oils help keep pests away.
