The booze-up, held at Irvine Lake on 8/30, featured the county's best breweries, plus domestic and international brands, including ones from Hawai'i, Brazil and, of course, Belgium. The afternoon's entertainment was the Spinal Tap-inspired Metal Shop.

August! It came, we sweated, we complained and now it's heading out. Weird. Here's our monthly photo review wrap-up, where we visited everything from hidden dog beaches and No Doubt's triumphant homecoming shows to something called an "insanewich" and Lil Wayne. Aw.
This year's line-up for Epicenter 2009 included Street Sweeper Social Club (Tom Morello's latest side project), Hollywood Undead, Atreyu, Wolfmother, Alice in Chains, Linkin Park and, yes, Tool. Epicenter took place on 8/22.
Nurds unite! BlizzCon took place this past weekend, from 8/21 through 8/22. An annual gamer pilgrimage to the Anaheim Convention Center takes place every year. Announcements of new content or new games for Blizzard's future are announced, as well as a mega costume contest (our favorite part!)...
On 8/23, the first ever Old World Village Musicians Swamp Meet took place—think NAMM but on a smaller scale. And in Huntington Beach. Photographer Keith May reports it appeared to be quite the success with many vendors and shoppers paying $4 for entry. Otherwise? A ghost town, as usual...
