Hello! Exploring the Supercute World of Hello Kitty opens tomorrow at the Japanese American National Museum in downtown Los Angeles. As part of the exhibit, they will feature a cultural retrospective spanning the 40 years since Hello Kitty's creation. Curated by Dr. Christine Yano, professor of Anthropology at the University of Hawai'i and author of Pink Globalization: Hello Kitty's Trek Across the Pacific, the retrospective features items from Sanrio's archives spanning the last 40 years of Hello Kitty.
