Dana Point BBQ Championship

The City of Dana Point hosted the first inaugural Dana Point BBQ Championship on September 23 - 24, 2011. Sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society, this first-class competition drew 50 professional and amateur teams from across the Western states, including famous teams featured on TLC's BBQ Pitmasters.

Big Daddy's Qn Crew of Manhattan Beach won the chicken category. All Hogs Go to Heaven of Lancaster took first place pork ribs. BBQ Pitmaster stars Harry Soo of Slap Yo' Daddy BBQ from Diamond Bar won the pork shoulder category, and Big Poppa Smokers from Indio, CA won the beef brisket category.
