An A to Z Guide to Being Undocumented

1 of 27

Hola, gentle readers! I'm OC Weekly editor Gustavo Arellano, here to introduce this wonderful graphic novella about the realities of living life as an undocumented person in the U.S. But instead of having an anchor baby like me tell you, I turn the pen over to two awesome activists: Prerna Lal and my former KPFK producer, Julio Salgado! Take it, kids! And any reader complaints about the Weekly supporting the Reconquista can be sent to garellano@ocweekly.com. Happy ranting!

Uhm, photo #7, 'Family', is a bunch of CRAP!  Add 8 to 10 more kids to it and then the rest of the extended family that lives in the same house.

Want to blame someone for broken families? Blame the person that is illegal.

Why do 'Dreamers' graduate debt free after receiving up to $60,000 in Cal Grants while American middle class students graduate with $60,000 in student loan debt. It's not right that American students are punished for the crimes of the Dreamers parents.

How do they divide families. Everyone born of a Mexican citizen is a Mexican citizen. Just join your deported parents in México Lindo.

So how come none of this doesn't apply to the bigots in Mexico and the Mexican government that treat Guatamalan and Salvadorian immigrants the same, if not worse. When we see Mexicans in Mexico protesting against their government's immigration policies and opens its borders on the south, than we'll start doing the same here...and no one will be hypocrites. From The Atlantic..."Salvadorian immigrant Consuelo Miscuita, 42, and her daughter Wendy, 15, spend another night at the Hermanos en el Camino immigrant shelter on August 5, 2013 in Ixtepec, Mexico. Consuelo said before arriving to the shelter they were robbed of all their money by Mexican federal police."

@LoveYouGus  Because they have ethnic/racialist groups like MEChA and La Raza working for them.

@Mitchell_Young  Undocumented euphemisms kick and scream like little girls when law enforcement compels them to go home. It's sad, shameful and tiresome.

@jlemas  Mexico, as a sovereign nation, has the complete right to enforce its borders. So does the US.

I'm new to your publication, so are you referring to articles about the deplorable immigration policies in Mexico, the lack of outrage by Mexicans of their countries treatment of illegal immigrants, or the hyporacy of Mexican illegal immigrants wanting more rights in a country they are not in legally, but not extending those some rights to illegal immigrants in their country.
