A Huge South Swell Visits The Wedge

Starting September 1, 2011, a huge south swell made its way to the Wedge in Newport Beach to entertain spectators and surfers with 20-foot-plus waves all day Thursday. Hundreds of locals gathered early to watch surfers, bodyboarders, and other daredevils brave the triple overhead conditions in one of the biggest swells so far this year. All images by Kevin Lara.
