As the 2011 US Open of Surfing winded down to its final day, Day 8 brought big waves and fierce competition in the Men's Round 5 and Women's Quarterfinals. Highlights included San Clemente local Kolohe Andino eliminating John John Florence of Hawaii to advance to the Quarterfinals, while local Courtney Conlogue lost to World Champion Carissa Moore. The first champions were also crowned on Saturday, with Filipe Toledo and Lakey Peterson winning the Junior Pro competition. All images by Kevin Lara.
