World's Biggest McDonald's Is Being Built In London For The Olympics

Hey all you athletes in top form headed for the Summer Games in London, you can rest assured. They're building the world's biggest McDonald's there just for you.

Yup. The Golden Arches will be there to serve you McNuggets as you compete for the gold. The temporary structure they've made of recyclable materials spans two stories and about 32,292 square feet–half the length of a football field. It is reported it will seat 1,500 people at a time. The  2,000 people on staff, who had to go through auditions to be hired, are estimated to serve more than 50,000 Big Macs and 180,000 servings of French fries during its six week run.

If you're thinking that it sounds kind of counter-intuitive to have the fast food company long-criticized for its unhealthfulness there sponsoring and selling its wares at the Olympic Games, they knew you'd be thinking that. As part of their strategy, the Happy Meal toy they're giving away is a gadget that measures and logs physical activity, whose data can be uploaded online to interact in a game with the official Olympics' mascot.

Well isn't that nice!
