Weekend Guide: OC Foodie Fest, Brewapalooza and a Weekly Soirée

Catch the Poutine Truck at OC Foodie Fest on Saturday.

TODAY 
What: A smashing pairing of gourmet dishes with the Belgian-style ales of the Cooperstown, New York-based Ommegang Brewery. Think sweet potato frittes paired with Ommegang Belgian Pale Ale, house-smoked salmon marinated in Hennepin paired with Ommegang Hennipen-Saison and housemade banana bread paired with Ommegang Three Philosophers, cherries and chocolate. 
When: Thurs., 7-9 p.m.

FRIDAY 
What: The final day of prix-fixe menu madness. Hurry and try to snag one of the remaining reservations at the nearly 30 participating restaurants. 
When: Through Fri., lunch and dinner.  
Where: All over Costa Mesa.   
Cost: Varies.
SATURDAY 
What: The second-annual luxe lonchera monster meet-up. Check out the massive lineup, which includes trucks we don't see around these parts too often like NaanStopThe Dim Sum Truck and The Poutine Truck
When: Sat., noon to 6 p.m. 
Cost: $12, general admission; $6, children under 12, free for kids under 3. $25, early admission; $75, VIP admission.  
What: Craft beer from Green Flash, Ballast Point, Bootleggers, Anchor and The Bruery paired with new menu items by chef Aaron Sanchez. Plus live musical performances.  
When: Sat., 1 p.m. 
Cost:  $10, general admission; $25, VIP.
What: A once-secret craft beer event “for the nerdiest of all beer nerds,” featuring brews that are experimental and rare. Partial tap list includes Craftsman Sour Lavender, De Ranke XX Bitter, Pizza Port Revelations Belgian Strong Pale Ale, High Water Retribution Double IPA Maui Bourbon Bal-Aged KGB Russian Imperial Stout and AleSmith Speedway Stout.
When: Sat., noon-8 p.m. 
Cost: $40, pre-sale; $50, at the door; $15, designated drivers (includes food). 
What: OC Weekly's annual summer food extravaganza celebrating our annual restaurant issue (pick up a copy now!). It's a swanky evening of tasty eats from more than 40 OC restaurants, along with drinks, music and mingling. 
When: Sat., 7-11 p.m. 
Where: Lakeside at Wyndham Hotel, Costa Mesa
Cost: $15, presale online; $20, at the door.
