UPDATE: Golden Road Brewing's Charity Beer Garden CANCELLED :(

Golden Road

We have some bad news for you Angels fans. Due to reasons outside of their control, Golden Road Brewing must cancel the Pop-Up Beer Garden scheduled for this weekend. As reported yesterday, the brewery was planning to host a small beer garden in the parking lot of their upcoming Anaheim location to celebrate Angles' opening weekend. This was a last minute cancellation for everyone and Golden Road apologizes deeply for the mishap.

Fear not, for Golden Road's projected sister brewpub will be open soon enough (the end of the year most likely) and Anaheim will be swigging fresh pints of Point The Way IPA, Get Up Off Of That Brown, and 329 Lager soon enough. TAPS Fish House & Brewery former brewmaster Victor Novak will act as head brewer at the new location and plans to whip up original recipes in addition to the Golden Road staples. Hold tight.

In the mean time, I guess it's true what they say: absence truly does make the heart grow fonder... or in this case, thirstier.

ORIGINAL POST PUBLISHED April 7, 2015:

Can you smell it? The piping hotdogs, the salty peanuts, the cheesy nachos. The Angels' opening weekend is upon us, and Golden Road Brewing will be hosting a pop-up beer garden to celebrate the 2015 baseball season. No complaints here.

While the Anaheim brewpub has yet to open its doors, Golden Road will instead sling pints of Point the Way IPA, 329 Lager and Hefe in the parking lot of their upcoming Anaheim location at 2220 East Orangewood Ave, directly across the street from the southwest entrance of Angels Stadium. A humble $10 gets you admission into the Golden Road beer garden and two fresh beers from LA's largest brewery. And when you want a little grub to munch on when you're three pints in, a food truck will be parked and ready to serve you. Cheaper, and better, than stadium food and drink, for sure.

The celebration will kick-off two hours before the weekend games. Friday from 5 to 7:30 p.m., Saturday from 4 to 6:30 p.m. and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to1 p.m. While baseball is America's family sport, unfortunately no one under the age of 21 may enter the Golden Road beer garden.

All proceeds of the weekend's beer buying will go directly toward the Heal the Bay, which aims to keep our oceans, rivers and beaches thriving. Don't worry if you plan to revel in your stadium seat watching our boys practice instead of make it down to the beer garden; there's Golden Road beer over at concessions too.
