Hey all of you who've bought sausages at Trader Joe's recently: The company that produces the Trader Joe's house brand chicken sausages have issued a recall after finding bits of plastic in the sausages. Also affected by the recall are Al Fresco branded sausages. For more information, check after the jump.

The sausages were produced throughout March, so if the sausage in your fridge is from before then.. you might want to consider throwing it out and not buying so much food in the future.

The identifiable information is as follows:

  • 12-oz. packages of Trader Joe's brand "Sweet Apple Chicken Sausage" with the case code 9605 and use by/freeze by dates of "4 22 15," "4 25 15" and "4 29 15."
  • 8-oz. packages of al fresco brand "Apple Maple Fully Cooked Breakfast Chicken Sausage" with the case code 9709 and use by/freeze by dates of "JUN 13 2015" and "JUN 20 2015."

The packaging will also bear the establishment number "P7839" inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were sold nationwide, and the problem was identified after two separate complaints were received by the company. No injuries have been reported. If you have any, bring 'em back to where you got 'em.
