This Week In Food: Pappy Van Winkle, Sour Beer, and the Great American Cheeseburger

Happy Friday, dudes! Let's take a look at what happened this week in food…

Edwin gorged himself on brunch at O'Neill's Bar & Grill, a hoity toity restaurant inside the Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club. He also announced that Montreal Poutine (a whole poutine restaurant?!?!) will be opening in Costa Mesa. Gustavo took a seat at Front Porch Pops for his Hole in the Wall review, and shared the opening of a Vietnamese-Mexican food restaurant in Garden Grove. I can't…quite…imagine that combination. Pho burritos, anyone?

Anne Marie worked her way up our 100 favorite dishes list with the chili lime popcorn from Green Tomato Grill and the takuwan sushi from AnQi. She also told us that a new wine bar will open in Santa Ana. Cleo got on with the beer news, announcing two tasting events at TAPS Brewery and bringing us another edition of Understanding Beer – this time it's about sours and infections.

Kiera came to the defense of Dunkin' Donuts. Sarah went to El Torazo for her Long Beach Lunch. Dave announced the Pappy Van Winkle tasting dinner at 320 Main; it's for only the most expensive of whisky palettes, but probably sold out already so I don't even know why I'm telling you. To bring it back home, the other Dave, Dave Mau, went in search of the great, American cheeseburger; and if anyone knows a great cheeseburger it's this man.

Until next time, have a good one, from all of us at Stick a Fork In It!
