This Week In Food: Glassware, Umami Cocktail, and a Long Overdue Yelp Lawsuit

Happy weekend, folks. Let's take a look at what's up with OC food…

Edwin took a walk down Retro Row in Long Beach and tried out their newest restaurant, Social List. He announced that Sushi Rook will be opening its first OC location at Fashion Island, and that it's time to prepare for Costa Mesa Restaurant Week. Last, he gave us a rundown of all the restaurants that closed and opened this past month.

Charles excitedly shared the videos that Bill Nye has been posting to YouTube – namely excited about the one on GMOs. He also warned everyone of the jarred food recall from VR Green Farms in San Clemente. And he told us that Build-Your-Own Pizza is coming to Santa Ana.

No one other than Dave could fill us in on Yelp's lawsuit – the moral of the story being, don't always believe what you read, folks. Dave also named some of his favorite dishes for our continued countdown, like the pescado a lo macho at Muelle Peruvian Cantina and the cemita de milanesa at La Cemita Poblana.

Anne Marie interviewed Roland Barer and Joey Oehrlein of Casa in Costa Mesa. She also reminded us that the Newport Beach Food and Wine Festival is approaching. And she named the Oh, Henry at Umami Burger Irvine the Drink of the Week.

Sarah went to Ahimsa Vegan Cafe for her Long Beach Lunch. Cleo continued her “Understanding Beer” series, and this time told us about the importance of glassware and getting into beer smells. Last, while Gustavo is on vacation, he did leave us with a Hole in the Wall review of Mamounia in Anaheim.

Until next time, have a good one, from all of us at Stick a Fork In It!
