Hello ladies and gents. This has been a sad week for our blog; our lovely staff writer, Michelle, is leaving us and this will be her last time writing for Stick A Fork In It. We hope she'll come back to freelance eventually, but until then, let's take a look at this week in food...
Edwin reviewed Coconut Rabbit in Los Alamitos and is calling it the best thing since Thai Nakorn. Then he told us about a cronut shop that opened in Fullerton, and a ridiculous cookbook called Modernist Cuisine. Last, he shared the sad news that Asian Noodle Cafe at Irvine University will be closing after 19 years. :(
Anne Marie announced that Rocq in Lake Forest is closing, but that Jimmy's Famous American Tavern in Dana Point is opening. Then she spoke with Debra Sims of Maro Wood Grill in Laguna Beach for her On The Line column.
Dave said that Taco María is officially open and now offering a 4-course prix fixe menu, and next he told us about two of his favorite dishes in the county: hu tieu at Hu Tieu Thanh Xuan (that's a mouthful, meh heh heh) and chivito at Puerto Madero/El Gaucho #2.

Bill went to the annual paella contest in the Valle de Guadalupe for Tijuana Sí! Sarah visited Baja Sonora for her Long Beach Lunch. And Niyaz Pirani announced that the Playground's hatch burger is back.
Last, our darling Michelle told us that Portolla Coffee will start making bottled iced-coffee drinks. Then she asked us to try one of her favorite dishes, "the bobby special" beef salad at Sophy's Fine Thai & Cambodian Cuisine. And she wrapped it up with how you, yes you, can make money in the Naked Juice settlement.
Until next week, have a good one from all of us at Stick a Fork In It!
