The Playground & Clay Oven Team Up To Do “Play Oven” Pop-Up

It was two years ago that Jason Quinn, now famous (or is it infamous?) for his downtown Santa Ana restaurant The Playground, did his first interview here on this very blog. At the time, when I asked him “What cuisine that you are unfamiliar with would you want to learn more about and why?” he said:

Thai, traditional Chinese, Indian, Japanese. I use ingredients from all these cultures in my “fusion” dishes but I wouldn't know how to cook for a traditional Indian family.

Now it seems that Quinn is ready to try in a big way. He will will team up with Chef Geeta Bansal of Clay Oven for a six-course pop-up at her restaurant on July 26.

Executive Chef Geeta Bansal of the Clay Oven and Executive Chef Jason Quinn of The Playground will be hosting a 6 course prix fixe dinner inspired by fresh seafood and Indian spices and cooking techniques on July 26th at the Clay Oven. There will be two seatings (6:00pm & 9:00pm) limited to 40 seats per seating, and each tasting will be $60.00 per person. Reservations by phone only beginning July 6th, 2012.
