Last month, Anne Marie got the scoop on Aria International Supermarket, which planned to take over the space left behind by Sears Essentials in Tustin. The enormity of it was confirmed when I went into the supermarket this weekend as it quietly opened.
It is indescribably spacious. Floors gleam like an ice rink. It almost seems like they have an excess of space they don't know what to do with. Some aisles are wide enough to fit an SUV through. Everything looks spaced as far apart as possible to cover the acreage.
In one area, a food court where one can fit what I guess two armies and their horses, has cushioned chairs and tables with sumac shakers.
There is but one food vendor for now and it serves Persian fare, including a $5 koobideh special that Anne Marie tried today. She expressed surprise that this, a food court, supplied her with "silverware, glassware, tableware, bread and butter".

If you're judging by sheer spaciousness, this would seem to be *THE* challenger to Wholesome Choice. It is definitely a far cry from Super Irvine, whose owners reportedly own this new store.
