The Krave Kobe Burger Grill Opens in Newport Beach

The Newport Beach branch of the Glendora burger outfit Krave Kobe Burger has opened, though, if you must know, the burgers aren't technically from Kobe cows, but rather American Wagyu. It's not the first joint in OC to serve these kinds of "Kobe-style burgers".

Tommy Bahama, Bonefish Grill, even Ruby's Diner all offer what they call "Kobe burgers" on their menus. Now add Krave, which is now open for business at Newport Coast Shopping Center (21133 Newport Coast Dr. Newport Beach), its first restaurant in OC.

If you're wondering about the price points, the Glendora store sells its base Kobe burger--a 5-ounce burger with caramelized sweet onions, beefsteak tomato, green leaf lettuce and a signature garlic aioli--for about $7, which seems a reasonable enough price for a burger, Kobe or not.

And apparently, the Newport Beach location is the only location that serves shakes.
