See that bag of Tapatío-flavored Fritos? It's now half-gone because I've limited myself to a daily fistful of the manna ever since we broke the news earlier this month they were debuting. It wasn't Lenten denial, but rather not knowing when they'd appear on store shelves outside random Costcos.
Now, I know the answer--they'll be rolled out nationwide (or at least Mexi-heavy areas) IN TWO WEEKS.
A source with Frito-Lay confirmed the company's plan, adding they recently held a tasting party for employees so they could try the Fritos and the four other brands (Doritos, Lays, Ruffles and another the source wouldn't identify), and they "went nuts." Stores, meanwhile "are foaming at the mouth"--just like I have for the past two weeks for that sweet, sweet . . . YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. Seriously.
