We got a message from the good people at Tamarindo Truck informing us that they will be featured on Guy Fieri's show, Diners, Drive-In and Dives, at the end of the month. We featured Pedro Resendiz and his luxe lonchera on our On The Line column three years ago, and it's due time more people gave them props.

So we are elated for Tamarindo Truck, because despite what we've said about Fieri, people watch that show and its reruns. Besides, if you don't count the time Gordon Ramsay did Kitchen Nightmare'd Luigi's D'Italia, it seems that the spiky-haired Food TV host is the only one of his kind to give OC's dining scene some national attention. To my knowledge, Fieri's featured about two or three places in Orange County. Anthony Bourdain and Andrew Zimmern? Zip. Zilch. Nada.
Tamarindo Truck's Triple D moment will air on May 30th, 2014. And to Bourdain and Zimmern, we say, “Hey, fellas! You know we have pho, right?”
