It's a sight I guess I'm not used to. Right there next to Le Croissant Dore, in the thick of Bolsa Ave. in Little Saigon, I saw a sign that announced the imminent opening of a noodle shop. But it's not pho, or hu tieu, or even mi, which is the specialty of Boiling Noodle, just across the street. No, this is going to be a restaurant that serves udon, the thick, white Japanese noodle that seems an oddball thing to find here as a taco in Moscow.
In truth, there are a lot of Japanese restaurants in Garden Grove and Westminster, just none that I've noticed before inside the dense jungle of Little Saigon's pho shops.
More on this as it comes.
