How can your restaurant qualify to host an OC Weekly/KCRW Good Food with Evan Kleiman Happy Hour? Pretty simple: you have to be awesome. I have to like you–which, if you're awesome, is already taken care of. You have to sell booze. And you have to create a happy hour drink special and a food special.
KCRW just wants one drink and one food special for the night usually. But for this coming week's Happy Hour at Memphis at the Santora (7pm! Tuesday! FREE!) in big, bad SanTana, head chef Diego Velasco is going balls-out. The cocktail guys will offer an awesome Old Fashioned for five bucks. Velasco? Not only is he doing one food special, he's doing FIVE. Each $5 or cheaper. OH SNAP!!!

Mini beef Chicago dogs, pickled fennel relish $4
Barbecued mushrooms, black kale, polenta $4
Bison meatballs, sofrito, pine nuts, fried spinach $5
Buttermilk fried chicken wings, maple-bacon gravy $5
The 'Cobra' slider, fried chicken, cheddar, bacon & ranch $5
Damn, Velasco is a badass. There will be no regular menu that night–just these one-night wonders. GO GO GO!
