Ripe Author Cheryl Sternman Rule Stops in OC For Intimate Garden Dinner Event

Produce porn may not be a thing–yet. But when readers page through Ripe: A Fresh, Colorful Approach To Fruits and Vegetables, moaning often ensues. The book, packed with recipes, stories, kitchen tips and mouthwatering photos, is like a love letter to food grown from the ground, one that even non-herbivores can appreciate.

Author Cheryl Sternman Rule, who runs the popular blog 5 Second Rule, will be making a stop in OC on Saturday, July 21, for an intimate dinner event under the stars. Held in hostess Kim Burnell's edible garden in north Tustin (address to be given to those who register), the night will feature a five-course meal from Ripe, followed by a cocktail party and fruit dessert potluck.

Rule, who lives in Silicon Valley, writes on her blog: “We will drink festive libations. Talk about fruit. Commune with vegetables. Discuss life. Get to know each other. Share stories while we share a meal. Then I will do a reading and sign some books with the neatest handwriting I can muster.”
Dinner begins at 5 p.m. with a cocktail hour. Tickets are $55 (includes a cookbook), and can be purchased here. (Hurry–they're selling fast.) The after-party/dessert potluck begins at 8 p.m. and is free, but you must reserve your spot in advance here
