Pepsi-Flavored Cheetos Is Real!

It has come to this. Frito Lay, which is owned by PepsiCo, has put out Pepsi-flavored Cheetos. Yes. Pepsi. Flavored. Chee. Tos. When news of it went viral earlier today, the reaction from the Interwebs was swift, but swang from the most disgusted yucks to the most enthusiastic yaays.

But alas it's only available in Japan (unless you want to buy it off eBay), and according to the LA Times, it won't be coming to the U.S. At least any time soon. They asked a PepsiCo spokesperson and he said “The answer is no.”

The blog The Impulsive Buy, whose tagline is “putting the ew in product reviews”, was the first to write about it. It reviewed the snacks noting that “the cheese powder has been replaced with a cola powder that is disturbingly not brown” and as for the flavor, it says it's “too lemony”. “The sweeter cola flavor is there but it's subtler and overpowered by the intense citrus,” it writes.
