On The Line: Sid Fanarof Of zcafe, Part Two

I never realized what a joy it is to make food for other people.

Sid Fanarof used to be envious of musicians performing for fans, but realized that he brings pleasure to people through his cooking. He recounts an instance when a mother of three approached him to say, “I just needed to tell you, if I had to have a last supper it would be zpizza.” Now that's the ultimate compliment.

During a time when the majority couldn't afford a fancy gourmet pizza, Sid executed his demystified version of healthy fare to locals. After 25 years of operating zpizza, zcafe celebrates their one year anniversary this month with a menu that continues to share the values of his original brand.
