When you're not in the kitchen cooking, what are you doing?
Trying to take over the great Republic of California.

Where did you grow up?
I am a sweet, sun-kissed Newport original.

How tall are you?
6' 2" on a good day.

Hardest lesson you've learned:
To be a duck. Let it all roll right off of you.

What's your favorite childhood memory?
Going out to lunch with my mom. She was super bitchin'.

How did you and Leonard Chan meet?
At the bottom of a bottle of Jameson.

What were you up to five years ago?
I was in San Francisco opening 2 restaurants at the same time . . . .things haven't changed that much.

Last book you read; how was it?
The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. My son Kai and I were reading it before bed. It is beautiful, sad and touching.

Last thing you looked up/searched online:
Lyrics for MJs Bad, the definition of lull, and coal-fired ovens.

Do you have any skills that are non-food related?
I am a great leader and mentor of the masses, destined for taking over California.
