Olive Tree to Open Second Location After Ramadan

Olive Tree is a magnificent Middle Eastern restaurant, the one Little Arabia location that best fuses all of the region's distinct specialties under one restaurant, and it's reputation is just growing. Foodies from Los Angeles continue to make weekend pilgrimages for the whole lamb, the dips, the everything.

Well, they're now going to be making more trips. Co-owner Alan Abdo has privately, unofficially announced that Olive Tree is opening a second location after Ramadan, which for us kafirs is September.

The announcement came not via tweet or even an old-fashioned press release but rather a help-wanted email sent this morningto the Yahoo! group of the Network of Arab-American Professionals of Orange County. “The Olive Tree Restaurant in Anaheim's Little Arabia is looking for a waitress that is bilingual in Arabic and English,” Abdo wrote. “We have exciting opportunities that will present itself  in our new second location that will open after Ramadan. Official announcement soon to come! We are looking for a person that has a great attitude with a positive personality.”

That disqualifies me. But congrats to the Olive Tree folks for parlaying the success of their original spot into another location. How will that one differ? Details to come…
