OC Grub Guide For May 19-25: Wine, Beer And Everything’s Clear!

There is so much liquid nourishment to be thankful for this week. Where do we begin?!

Bowl With The Brewer: Golden Road Brewing – Costa Mesa
Tavern + Bowl will have their taps taken over tonight by Golden Road Brewing. The $6 pints kickoff at 6 p.m. with Wolf Among Weeds IPA, 329 Days of Sun Lager and Get Up Offa That Brown. Get there early enough, and score a matching pint glass to take home.

The Great Wine Festival – Irvine
Benefiting the Legal Aid Society of Orange County, Saturday’s festival will feature over 30 vendors covering not only wine, but beer, spirits and restaurants. Held at Orange County Great Park, this chill event includes unlimited bites and pours. Tickets start at $95, and can be purchased over here. Festivities begin at 2 p.m. (1 p.m. if you VIP).

American Craft Beer Week – Through May 22
Our friends at Anaheim Brewery (did you catch this week’s On the Line with them?) and TAPS Brea are brewing the “Biggest Small Beer Ever” to celebrate American Craft Beer Week. Pay a visit to sip on Anaheim’s Oatmeal Stout and support your local brewery! Learn more by visiting their website.

SIP Awards – Newport Beach
Sport some cocktail attire and head down to the Hyatt Newporter for some sampling action. This Sunday afternoon’s lineup is more than drinking— you might even spot our editor judging a bourbon competition! Either way, drive responsibly to this annual event.

Mesa Chef’s Table: David Bowie – Costa Mesa (pictured at top)

Celebrate the life of the chameleon musician with six food and beverage courses. Limited tickets are still available for this one-night-only affair next Wednesday. Chef Niki Starr’s meal begins promptly at 7 p.m, so don’t be tardy.
