OC Grub Guide For June 16-22: Pop-Up, Night Market And Street Food!

There’s so much going on the next few days, we honestly can’t decide what to do. Then again, we like a challenge! From liquid nourishment to Asian tapas, we’ve got you driving a bit to feed your weekend warrior.

Wheat and Sons Pop-up – Santa Ana
We kick things off with a special dinner next Monday. Hopefully there are tickets left for next Monday’s pop-up at Irenia with Wheat and Sons. Remember them? A five-course menu filled with savory delights like seven minute eggs with fried chicken skins and celery Victor and geoduck salad bathed in warm peppadew vinaigrette (pictured). A mystery listing of cocktails by Irenia’s own Lucie Wood and Ryan Schickling will be sure to please. For more information and to place a reservation, do email wh*****************@gm***.com.

OC Beer Week – All over the place
Even though it began last Friday, it’s never too late to get a few brews in for OC Beer Week. Events going on throughout the county end tomorrow, but we’ve got a few highlights to recommend. Artifex and Pizza Port San Clemente are having a tap takeover at Haven Gastropub this afternoon, pouring seven beers each. Bootlegger’s will be pouring at Huntington Beach’s Red Table restaurant during dinner. As for tomorrow, we’ll be headed to Barley Forge to check out Trappist-style ale Monk-E-Brewster. Also, Anaheim’s Iron Press will conduct a citrus-themed tap takeover with Bottle Logic after 5 p.m. Get all the event details over here.

OC Night Market – Costa Mesa
Returning for another busy weekend, expect the kind of cray only OC Night Market can bring. Our resident expert Edwin has sage words of advice when tackling all things delicious. And if you cannot make this weekend, there’s still one more appearance in Orange County this summer. Be sure to bring enough cashola to cover parking and entry. We’ve got the complete vendor list over here, so you can plot your exploits accordingly.

Tender Greens Scavenger Hunt – All over the place
If you’re the type that gets bored easily, we found an activity to keep you busy a f. To celebrate 10 years of Tender Greens goodness, they’ve teamed up with KCRW for the mother of all scavenger hunts. Participants will have an entire weekend to uncover as many clues and take corresponding photographs in a race to get the most correct responses. The winning team will be rewarded with a year’s worth of Tender Greens (valued at $5,000). To get acquainted with rules and the required app, head over here for the details.

Nekter Juice Bar Grand Opening – Tustin
Thirsty early birds can join in on the festivities over at the newest location of Nekter inside the Market Place this Saturday morning. For starters, juices and smoothies will be discounted to $1 (!?!). Any one-day cleanse will be on sale for $30, while supplies last. Samples and giveaways from KIND, Corepower Yoga and Orangetheory Fitness will also be on hand. 10% of net sales that morning will go towards charity Miracles for Kids. To sign up for their free 8 a.m. yoga session and for additional details, check out the event link for more.
