Class 302, the shaved snow and Taiwanese comfort food specialist which themes its dining room, tables, and serving vessels to something out of a grade school classroom, began in Rowland Heights. It subsequently expanded to two stores in Irvine and then Cerritos. Now a new Class 302 has opened in Santa Ana. It features self-serve boba tea fountains like the Irvine Marketplace location.

Torizo, a Japanese hot pot specialist, has opened in the spot that formerly housed Cucina Sophia in Fountain Valley. The restaurant’s principle dish is chankonabe, the one-pot stew of meat and vegetables that sumo wrestlers eat to bulk up.

Doner G, the Turkish kebab restaurant that began in Anaheim and expanded to Irvine, has now opened store number three in Santa Ana at the space recently vacated by Z Pizza at the Mother’s Market-anchored shopping mall on Main Street.

Fresh Brothers has opened a new outlet in Laguna Niguel. This is the second restaurant for the chain in Chicago-style pizza chain after Newport Beach. Another is being planned at Newport Beach’s Westcliff Plaza.

Costa Mesa’s Ramen Zetton has opened a second restaurant in Cypress. It took over the space that used to be called Teriyaki Grill Monkey Wave, which used to also serve ramen along with teriyaki plates. This location, by the way, was where OC Weekly’s favorite Cambodian-Filipino joint, Cambino’s BBQ, used to be many years ago.
