Behold the beginning of our annual 100 Favorite Dishes countdown! Every day until the publication of our fantabulous Best Of Issue, we'll list our favorite meals this year in descending order. Enjoy, pass it on, and tune in daily!

Yes, Da-Le Ranch ain't OC; it's based in Lake Elsinore. But that hasn't stopped OC foodies from obsessing about their organic, humanely raised meats for the past couple of years, or for lines to form at the SOCO and downtown SanTana farmers' market as loyal customers await for their weekly order.

Everything they sell is spectacular, but the chica and I usually favor the breakfast sausage. They sell it by the pound, but even just one pound is so dense and flavorful you'd think they slaughtered a dwarf cow just for you. Juicy, earthy, thick: it's an ideal way to start a morning. Add an egg over-easy over it, and you'll never bother with Jimmy Dean again.

The List:

99. Tres Amigos Burrito from Piaggio on Wheels
100. Bacon-Wrapped Dates from Lola Gaspar
