Moulin Opening Tomorrow In Newport Beach

A French revival is underway off Bristol, as Moulin prepares to open in the former Pascal Epicerie spot. Classifying itself as a bistro, epicerie and cafe, the space experienced an extreme makeover in recent months. An outdoor fountain, beer and wine selections, and eye-catching Rotisol oven are a few of the details included in this French owned and operated establishment.

Visitors will have the option to grab-and-go or stay and sit at a choice of counters, patio dining or communal table to appreciate their meals. Bakery items will be prepared fresh daily, including baguettes and the gorgeous pastries pictured above. Owner Laurent Vrignaud wanted an authentic bistro experience, like the ones he frequented growing up in Montmartre. He furnished Moulin with items collected over the years, giving the space a rustic charm.

Expect display cases brimming with warm (rotisserie chicken!) and chilled options labeled en francais, with staff assisting with translation and explanation. Moulin will serve breakfast and lunch, with featured dinners forthcoming. We said good-bye to sensible eating the moment we tried a berry tarte.

Moulin will be located at 1000 Bristol St N; www.moulinbistro.com.
